Synopsis[]

Official synopsis from the publisher's website:

Official summary from the hardcover dust jacket:

Never before, in all the exciting adventures of Nancy Drew's famous career, has she encountered a case as perplexing as the mystery of the fire dragon. It all starts with a strange note from Chi Che Soong, the beautiful Chinese girl who lives with her grandfather in the New York apartment adjoining that of Nancy's Aunt Eloise. From the frantic tone of the note, written before Chi Che mysteriously disappeared, it is evident that she is in danger.
And when Grandpa Soong becomes the victim of a ruthless thief, who steals the archaeologist's precious manuscript, the mystery deepens.
Nancy has only one clue to follow, and a slight one at that, the unusual hand-painted fire dragon on the lower right-hand corner of the stationery Chi Che used in her plea for help.
The complicated mystery grows to fantastic proportions before Nancy and her friends George and Bess unearth the vital clue that takes them on a jet flight to exotic Hong Kong. There the three girls become involved in a series of unforgettable, breath-taking adventures, when Nancy matches wits with the craftiest adversaries she has ever faced. Nancy's job is made harder when she is knocked on the head with a vase and passes out.
