Justin Chase

Justin Chase is a character in The CW's television series Tom Swift portrayed by Hayward Leach. He is a young partner at a law firm who strikes up a relationship with Tom.

Plot summary[]

At Swift Enterprises public meeting where they plan to converse with Barton, who is on Saturn with a SE ship, Lorraine introduces Tom to a lawyer named Justin Chase. As she leaves, she comments on their combined names being a good monogram. Tom apologizes for Lorraine being extra, but Justin remarks she isn't wrong. The two flirt before Tom asks him out. He sees Zenzi talking with Congressman Eskol and excuses himself to make a quick rescue. Barton's ship ultimately explodes, leaving the Swift family devastated.

Justin attends Barton's funeral. He and Tom leave to be alone and have sex. A few days later Tom asks Justin for help with a logo on the side of a satellite. The logo doesn't exist in any corporate register. The launchpad belongs to a private company whose founder is Congressman Eskol. Justin gives Tom files about Stone Cooperation, Eskol's company, which is rumored to be a front for an Illuminati-scale group called The Road Back. Supposedly, The Road Back wants to prevent the technological advancement of humanity. He promises to find more information and they continue to flirt until Tom rushes off to meet Lorraine.^[1]

Justin attends the annual Swift Enterprises Summit, flirting with Tom when he arrives. Justin offers to be Tom's business encyclopedia for the evening as he knows everyone there, which is an offer Tom accepts. They give the investors a tour of Tom's greatest inventions. When Tom's penlight goes awry making the champagne taste poorly, Justin's suggestion gives Tom an idea to use orange zest to fix the PH balance using the penlight. After the summit, Tom celebrates by joining Justin in a private upstairs room for champagne and sex.^[2]

Lorraine later explains to Tom that she pushed him towards Justin because she wanted him to have good people around him for what's coming. She realizes now that he does have good people around him.^[3]
