Lisbeth

Lisbeth is a character in The CW's 2019 television series Nancy Drew. She was a driver for the Hudson family and did various odd jobs for them, and she developed a relationship with Bess. Lisbeth is portrayed by Katie Findlay.

Plot summary[]

Ryan Hudson makes arrangements to have Tiffany Hudson's body moved to a different morgue, so Nancy Drew plans to break into the morgue to get a sample of Tiffany's blood for testing before she's moved. The give her time to do this, Ace and Bess pretend to have a blown tire so they block the road to stop the driver.

Lisbeth is the driver, and she stops to help. Ace says that they've called for roadside assistance, but Lisbeth takes initiative and fixes the tire. To get Nancy more time, Ace sabotages the car more. While Lisbeth is working under the hood, she asks Bess to help, and the two begin to flirt. Bess gets Lisbeth's number.^[1]

Bess nearly texts Lisbeth later that night to ask her to dinner. With a resigned look at her situation of living out of a van, Bess deletes the text.^[1]

Lisbeth and Bess later go on a rather awkward date, and Lisbeth gets called away on a personal emergency. Bess later gets into a secret party to help with an investigation, and she runs into Lisbeth, who lied about her reasons for leaving. They finally get more real with each other and kiss.^[2]

Lisbeth comes under suspicion as possibly sabotaging Ace and Laura Tandy's car for the Hudsons. Bess confronts Lisbeth, and when she points out that Lisbeth's social media is fake and she didn't exist before five years ago, Lisbeth tells her that she's undercover state police investigating the Hudsons. Lisbeth thinks she'll need to leave the case because her cover is blown, but when they promise to keep her identity secret, she stays, helps the investigation, and stages a breakup with Bess to convince the Hudsons she's loyal to them.^[3]
