NANCY DREW AND THE MYSTERY AT SPOTLIGHT MANOR: A MUSICAL will feature music by Tony, Emmy, Grammy and Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast), lyrics by Tony Award nominee Nell Benjamin (Legally Blonde, Mean Girls), book by two-time Academy Award winner Sarah Kernochan and direction by three-time Tony Award winner and Pulitzer Prize winner James Lapine (Into the Woods, Sunday in the Park with George).

Nancy Drew: The Musical was a previous attempt at creating a Nancy Drew stage musical. "Set aboard a cruise ship, the musical finds Drew in her later years as she faces her life’s biggest mystery: her own family." It was written by Jeremy Desmon and Jeff Thomson and directed by Lorin Latarro. It never had a full production, but it had an invitation-only reading on October 22, 2018 in New York City starring Judy McLane as Nancy Drew, and Betsy Wolfe as Diana Nickerson, Nancy's daughter.
